There is a touchscreen infotainment system in the vehicle which supports smartphone connectivity. Besides, it has a manual gearstick for the four-wheel-drive system in the 4x4 variants. The Thar 4x2 variants can be distinguished by the lack of the 4x4 badging on either side of the body.

The Thar is offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine producing 150bhp and 320Nm of torque while the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill develops 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Also up for offer is a 1.5-litre diesel engine in the lower variants, generating 117bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission options include six-speed manual and automatic units. The Thar 4x4 gets a 4WD system while the 4x2 version misses out on this feature. All the said engine are now updated to comply with the RDE norms.
